THE VILLAGE HOUSE

Renovation of a village house – Luberon

This stone house featured an authentic structure but a fragmented layout, marked by split levels and a poorly positioned staircase that limited the flow of spaces.

The project involved a complete restructuring of the volumes. The existing staircase was removed and repositioned to clarify circulation and restore a coherent layout. It now becomes a central feature of the project, both functional and architectural.

The kitchen was entirely redesigned and integrated into the living area, with careful attention to proportions, materials, and use, creating a space that is both practical and welcoming.

The intervention builds on the enhancement of the existing structure: stone walls, exposed beams, and traditional materials are preserved and elevated through restrained, contemporary choices.

The spaces thus gain in clarity, light, and comfort, achieving a balanced harmony between heritage and modernity.
